From “Christian Culture” to The Way
The book of Ma’asiym (Acts) doesn’t describe Sunday programs, church brands, and celebrity pastors.
It describes followers of The Way: (Related: How Empire Repackaged the Gospel: From The Way to State Religion.) (Related: How Empire Repackaged the Gospel: From The Way to State Religion.)
- Torah-respecting
- Spirit-filled
- Persecuted
- Obedient
Somewhere between Jerusalem and Rome, we drifted.
What Is “Churchianity”?
Churchianity is:
- Loving the church system more than YAHUSHA
- Measuring faith by attendance, not obedience
- Swapping biblical feasts for pagan-mixed holidays
- Trusting titles more than the RUACH HAQODESH
It produces:
- Fans, not disciples
- Consumers, not soldiers
- Members, not remnant
What Was “The Way”?
Before the label “Christian” stuck, the early believers were called followers of The Way (Acts 9:2; 19:9, 23).
The Way was:
- Centered on YAHUSHA HA’MASHIACH
- Rooted in Torah and the prophets
- Empowered by the RUACH HAQODESH
- Marked by persecution and power
They didn’t just “go to church.” They were the assembly.
Romanization: How We Got Here
Over time:
- Rome institutionalized the faith
- Pagan festivals got baptized and renamed
- Hebrew roots were cut off
- The faith of YAHUSHA turned into a religion about “Jesus”
Result:
- The calendar changed
- The Names were buried
- The commandments were treated like museum pieces
But YAHUAH always kept a remnant that refused to bow.
Signs You’re Stuck in Churchianity
- You know your church’s brand better than the Scriptures
- You defend tradition harder than truth
- You feel guilty for questioning man-made systems
- You’re more comfortable with programs than repentance
If this stings, that’s mercy, not condemnation.
How to Exit Churchianity Without Leaving YAHUSHA
- Repent for Idolizing Systems
- Ask YAHUAH to break soul ties with dead religion.
- Return to the Word From Bereshith to Chazon
- Stop reading the Renewed Covenant as if the “Old” is irrelevant.
- Honor the Hebrew Roots Without Pride
- Keep the feasts.
- Learn the calendar.
- Use the Names.
- Follow the RUACH, Not Just a Program
- House gatherings, discipleship, prayer, fasting — not just events.
- Stay Connected, Not Isolated
- The remnant still assembles, but with purpose, not performance.
The Remnant Isn’t Running From the Church — They’re Returning to The Way
This is not about bitterness. It’s about alignment.
The goal isn’t to be “ex-church.” The goal is to be:
- Set-apart
- Obedient
- Spirit-led
- Kingdom-minded
Let the RUACH HAQODESH detox you from Churchianity and re-enlist you into The Way YAHUSHA actually walked.
