Why the Name Matters: From "Lord" to YAHUAH
Most believers pray to “Lord” without ever asking who removed the Name YAHUAH from Scripture. This teaching exposes the history, the impact, and why the remnant is returning to the true Name.
Why the Name Matters
Most of us were handed Bibles where the true Name of the Father — YAHUAH — was replaced with a title: LORD.
If the enemy went that hard to bury it, it’s a big deal.
“And they that know Your Name will put their trust in You.”
— Tehillim (Psalm) 9:10
You can’t fully trust who you don’t truly know.
How We Lost the Name
Throughout most English Bibles:
- YHWH (יהוה) became LORD (in all caps)
- Tradition said the Name was “too holy” to pronounce
- Human fear and religious control replaced revelation
By the time many of us were born:
- We thought “God” was a name
- We thought “Lord” was enough
- We never questioned why the Hebrew Name vanished
But the prophets didn’t play that game.
“My people shall know My Name…”
— Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 52:6
YAHUAH and YAHUSHA — Names With Purpose
- YAHUAH – “He who exists / the Self-Existent One,” the covenant Elohiym of Israel
- YAHUSHA – “YAHUAH is salvation,” the Name of the Mashiach
These Names:
- Tie directly to covenant
- Reveal His character and mission
- Expose the counterfeit images religion built
“Jesus” became a brand. YAHUSHA takes us back to the Hebrew reality.
Why the Enemy Hates the Name
The Name:
- Marks covenant people
- Separates YAHUAH from idols
- Carries authority in spiritual warfare
No wonder Babylon loves generic titles.
Generic titles allow:
- A generic god
- A generic gospel
- A generic jesus that never confronts sin, systems, or lies
The remnant is not worshiping “a higher power.” We call on YAHUAH and bow to YAHUSHA.
Is This About Legalism? No — It’s About Honor
You’re not “unsaved” because you didn’t know His Name. Many of us came to faith in ignorance.
But once you see truth:
- Honor demands response
- Love adjusts language
- Reverence changes how we speak
You’ll never unlearn that He has a Name and He revealed it.
How to Start Returning to the Name
- Pray Using the Name
- “YAHUAH, I thank You…”
- “In the Name of YAHUSHA HA’MASHIACH…”
- Read Restored Name Translations
- Use resources that restore YHWH instead of hiding Him behind “LORD.”
- Teach Your Household
- Explain to your children why the Name matters.
- Stay Humble and Patient With Others
- You were once where they are
- Share truth with grace, not arrogance
The Call to the Remnant
In the last days, YAHUAH is restoring:
- Identity
- Covenant
- Name
“For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same My Name shall be great among the nations.”
— Mal’aki (Malachi) 1:11
If you’re part of the remnant, you won’t be ashamed to say His Name.
Return to YAHUAH. Exalt YAHUSHA. Let the Name be great again — starting in your own mouth.
