Day 3: Prayer & Fasting

Mattityahu (Matthew) 6:16-18

"Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."

Reflection

Fasting is how you tell your flesh, "You don't run this." YAHUSHA assumed His people would fast—"When you fast," not "if." Religion turned fasting into a stunt; the Kingdom turns it into a weapon. When you deny yourself food or a major distraction, you're trading comfort for clarity. The noise drops, your cravings scream, and what really controls you gets exposed. This isn't about impressing YAHUAH; it's about agreeing with Him. As you fast, you're humbling yourself, admitting how weak you actually are, and asking RUACH to break strongholds you couldn't break with willpower. Every hunger pang becomes a reminder to pray. Every urge to scroll, snack, or escape becomes a chance to say, "YAHUAH, I want You more than this."

Prayer

YAHUAH, I lay my comfort on the altar. Teach me to fast in secret, not to be seen by people, but to be changed by You. Break every stronghold in my life. Let this fast sharpen my discernment, strengthen my spirit, and align my desires with Yours. In the Name of YAHUSHA, amein.

Action Step

Fast from one meal or one major distraction today. Use that exact time slot to pray, worship, and listen.
