When Relationships Refine You

Proverbs 27:17

"Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."

Reflection

Real friendships are not just about laughs and memories; they are about sharpening. Iron-on-iron creates friction, sparks, and heat—but it also produces a sharper edge. If nobody in your circle can challenge you, your circle is not sharpening you; it's soothing you. YAHUAH uses covenant relationships to confront blind spots, strengthen weak areas, and push you closer to Him. That requires honesty, humility, and accountability. Surface-level relationships might protect your feelings, but they will not protect your destiny.

Prayer

YAHUAH, thank You for the people You have placed in my life to sharpen me. Remove relationships that dull my edge and strengthen those that call me higher. Give me the humility to receive correction and the love to offer it gently.

Action Step

Reach out to a trusted friend and invite honest feedback about one area of your life. Listen without defending yourself, and bring what they share before YAH in prayer.
