Entertainment Church or Training Ground for Soldiers?
For a lot of people, “church” means:
- Dim lights
- Smoke machines
- Tight band
- Motivational talk
- Out in 75 minutes
It feels good. It’s inspiring. It’s safe.
But look at Scripture. Do you see:
- Comfortable crowds?
- Or trained disciples and spiritual soldiers?
We have to ask:
“Are we building audiences—or armies?”
Marks of Entertainment Church
- Worship focused heavily on experience, lightly on holiness.
- Sermons that avoid hard topics to keep seats filled.
- No real discipleship beyond Sunday.
- Leaders treated like celebrities, not servants.
- Programs for everything, power for very little.
People leave saying:
- “That was amazing.”
- “The production was insane.”
But often can’t say:
- “I was cut to the heart.”
- “I know what YAHUAH is calling me to change.”
Marks of a Training Ground
In a training ground:
- You are taught to use the Word, not just hear it.
- You are trained in prayer, not just watched others pray.
- You are challenged in holiness, not flattered in compromise.
- You are equipped to stand in warfare, not entertained into passivity.
You leave saying:
- “That was heavy—but I’m clearer.”
- “I know my assignment.”
- “I’m being sharpened.”
It’s not always “fun,” but it’s life-giving.
Why Entertainment Is So Tempting
- It draws crowds quicker.
- It offends fewer people.
- It feels successful on paper—views, attendance, giving.
- It keeps people coming back for how it makes them feel.
But in the day of testing:
- Feelings crumble.
- Shallow roots snap.
- Spectacle can’t hold you.
How to Shift the Culture
If you’re a leader:
- Repent for any part you’ve played in feeding spectators, not training saints.
- Preach the whole counsel of YAHUAH, not just the parts that clap.
- Create spaces for real discipleship, confession, and growth.
- Raise teams who care more about presence than production.
If you’re not a leader:
- Stop demanding to be entertained.
- Hunger for depth, not just vibes.
- Ask how you can serve, not just be served.
- Support leaders who tell the truth, even when it stings.
Final Call
The days we’re in require:
- Men and women who know YAHUAH
- Who can stand in pressure
- Who can discern deception
- Who can suffer for the Name if needed
You don’t train soldiers with concerts. You train them with truth, discipline, and presence.
Ask YAHUAH:
“Am I part of entertainment church—or a training ground?”
Then move accordingly.
