Scroll, Compare, Numb: Social Media and the War on Your Soul
Most people don’t wake up saying:
“Today I want my mind rewired by an algorithm.”
But day after day, they:
- Roll over
- Grab the phone
- Scroll for 30–60 minutes before they even speak to YAHUAH
Social media isn’t just a tool. It’s a discipleship system.
What the Feed Is Really Training You To Do
Every scroll is teaching you:
- What to care about
- What to desire
- What to fear
- Who to envy
It creates a rhythm:
- Dopamine hit
- Comparison
- Outrage
- Distraction
Repeat it for years, and:
- Focus gets weaker
- Contentment gets smaller
- Prayer feels boring
- Reading the Word feels “too slow”
You’ve been trained by Babylon’s screen, not YAHUAH’s presence.
Comparison: The Silent Assassin
On social media, you rarely see:
- The fight
- The failure
- The tears
You see:
- Highlights
- Filters
- Carefully curated moments
Your soul quietly says:
- “I’m behind.”
- “I’m not enough.”
- “My life is small.”
The enemy doesn’t need to destroy you loudly if he can drain you quietly through comparison.
Numbness: When Nothing Hits Anymore
After constant stimulation:
- Simple joys feel flat
- Deep conversations feel “too much”
- Real relationships feel like work
You’re not broken. You’re overfed with empty calories.
The soul is full but malnourished.
How to Reclaim Your Attention in YAHUSHA
- Start Your Day With YAHUAH, Not Your Feed
- Set Hard Boundaries on Screen Time
- Curate Ruthlessly
- Use It as a Tool, Not a Place to Live
Kingdom Use of Social Media
We’re not called to:
- Hide under a rock
- Ignore the digital mission field
We are called to:
- Speak truth
- Shine light
- Refuse to bow our minds to algorithms
If social media is shaping you more than Scripture, something is out of order.
Final Call
Ask the RUACH HAQODESH:
“How is my scrolling shaping my soul?”
If you don’t like the answer, change the pattern.
You were not created to be a slave to the feed. You were created to be a son/daughter of YAHUAH, fully present, fully awake.
