What Heaven Really Is: Shamayim Beyond Religion and Fairy Tales
Most people talk about heaven like it’s a floating resort for “good people.” Scripture paints something far more dangerous to the kingdom of darkness: heaven (Shamayim – שָׁמַיִם) is real, structured, and governmental. It is YAHUAH’s throne realm, the place of His decrees, and the present realm of YAHUSHA’s intercession.
If your view of heaven is cartoons, clouds, and escape—this will reset it with Scripture.

What Heaven Is (Biblically)
Shamayim is:
- the throne room of YAHUAH
- the headquarters of His government
- the present realm of YAHUSHA’s intercession
- the temporary dwelling of the set-apart ones awaiting resurrection
“We have such an High Priest… a minister of the sanctuary…”
— Ivriym (Hebrews) 8:1–2
What You’ll Learn
- what heaven means in Hebrew context (Shamayim)
- where heaven shows up from Bere’shith (Genesis) to Chazon (Revelation)
- the three “heavens” Scripture describes
- why the final promise is new heavens and a new earth
- why heaven matters for assignment now, not just after death
Heaven Is YAHUAH’s Dwelling Place—Not Your Retirement Home
Shamayim means “the heights / the unseen realms.” Scripture describes heaven as:
- the throne room of YAHUAH (Yeshayahu 6; Revelation 4)
- the realm where the heavenly host moves at His command
- the place where YAHUSHA ascended and intercedes (Hebrews 8:1–2)
But the final promise goes beyond “going to heaven”:
“We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.”
— 2 Kepha (2 Peter) 3:13
Heaven now is real—but it is not the end of the story.
Scripture Describes Three Heavens
Sha’ul wrote about being caught up to the third heaven:
2 Qorin’tiym (2 Corinthians) 12:2
That implies layers:
- First heaven — the sky / atmosphere (Psalm 19:1)
- Second heaven — the unseen spiritual realm (Ephesians 6:12)
- Third heaven — the direct throne realm of YAHUAH
Heaven is not random mysticism. It is ordered authority.
The “Kingdom of Heaven” Is Government Language
Many were taught: “Believe so you can go to heaven.”
YAHUSHA preached:
“Repent: for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
— Mattithyahu (Matthew) 4:17
- Heaven is the realm
- The Kingdom is the rule
- New Yerushalayim is the future capital city
YAHUSHA didn’t sell afterlife insurance. He announced government takeover.
The Final Goal Is Renewed Creation, Not Escape
Chazon (Revelation) shows:
- a new heaven and new earth
- New Yerushalayim coming down
- YAHUAH dwelling with His people (Revelation 21:1–3)
The story ends with restored creation—Kingdom on earth.
Action Steps
- Trace “heaven” through Scripture and note patterns
- Shift from escape thinking to assignment living
- Align with Kingdom government—citizenship, not tourism
- Live set-apart now; heaven’s culture must show up here
