The Consistent Sabbath Cycle
Three biblical witnesses establishing that the weekly Sabbath has always been every seventh day — independent of the moon, unbroken from Creation.

Witness One: Creation Week
Genesis 1:14-19 & 2:2-3
The weekly Sabbath cycle was established before the moon existed. Days 1-3 of creation passed with no moon. The moon was created on Day 4. YAHUAH rested on Day 7 and sanctified it as the Sabbath.
Day 1 of the week is consistent with Day 1 of Creation — not Day 1 of the new moon. The moon was created to mark seasons, months, and years (Genesis 1:14) — not to reset the weekly Sabbath cycle.
The weekly cycle is independent of the moon from the very beginning.
Witness Two: David & Yahunathan Narrative
1 Samuel 20-21
In this account, the showbread was replaced on Day 3 or 4 of the biblical month. Leviticus 24:8 commands that showbread be set in order "every Sabbath day." Since the showbread was replaced on Day 3 or 4, this proves the Sabbath fell on a different day of the month than it would under a lunar-reset system.
The Sabbath is not determined by which day of the month it falls on.
Witness Three: Counting the Omer
Leviticus 23:10-11, 15-16
Scripture commands: "Count 7 Sabbaths" = "Count 50 days." Seven weeks of seven days each equals 49 days, plus one day = Day 50 (Pentecost/Shavuot). This mathematical precision only works with an uninterrupted weekly cycle. Any reset, gap, or pause would break the 7 × 7 + 1 = 50 equation.
The weekly Sabbath cycle continues without interruption.
Summary
By the testimony of three witnesses, Scripture establishes a simple, consistent pattern:work six days, rest the seventh. This rhythm has continued unbroken from Creation, independent of the monthly calendar. The moon marks months and seasons; the weekly cycle marks our pattern of work and rest.
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of YAHUAH your Elohiym." — Exodus 20:8-10
